Valentine Division Freebie

This is going to be a crazy week at school: 100th Day of School, Pancake Tuesday and Valentine's Day as well as classroom visits from our superintendent and some principals on Friday afternoon (yes Friday afternoon!). With all the interruptions it is hard to figure out how to fit curriculum in. I will be using some of the 100th Day of School activities from Collaboration Cuties on our 100th Day. I will be using my Monkey Love Prefix and Suffix unit to keep up with word study. I don't know how I will fit in our non-fiction writing (argh!). And to keep teaching division but also make it fun we will be doing these math sheets. For the last one I will be using cinnamon hearts or conversation hearts as manipulatives. I expect the students to write a division sentence when solving the problems as well as model their thinking with a strategy such as skip pattern counting or an array or a picture/model of equal groups. Click here to pick up a free copy of the sheets.

I am linking up with Classroom Freebies Manic Monday - hope these sheets help someone have an easier day or week!

  3. We won't be getting to division for a few weeks (I teach preservice teachers), but I plan to link them here and show them your idea. This is a terrific way to for getting students to think about solving division problems.
    Thanks for sharing!

  4. Pancake Tuesday? Are you in the UK? I'd never heard of that before I met my husband (from England). Yet I thought 100s day is a U.S. thing.
