Mentor Texts - Teaching Adjectives and a Freebie

Well it is time to link up again with amazing ladies at Collaboration Cuties - Amanda and Stacia  - for their Mentor Text linky. I think this is going to be an expensive linky party - I want all the books people recommend.

This week I am going to share a few books I use when teaching adjectives and for the last book there is a freebie activity.

When teaching adjectives I use the following books:

I use these books when we move on to comparative and superlative adjectives:

I love making class books modelled on "Things That are Most in the World" or "Nobody's Diggier Than a Dog". Both books teach the concept of comparative or superlative adjectives but are fun and silly so the kids love listening to them and coming up with their own ideas.

If you are interested in using these books to make a class book I am sharing a class book template and 2 quick little worksheets to work on these skills. Click here for a free copy.

Have a great Sunday - I know I will be spending time reading all the great book suggestions!

And if you are reading this on Monday be sure to check out all the great freebies at Classroom Freebies Manic Monday!
