Flippin' Friday - February 7th

Well this is the post that almost didn't happen. I have been busy having a meltdown over a memory stick malfunction in which I was about to lose a lot of files. I spent 3 hours trying to recover them all and now have a memory stick full of funky numbered recovered files that I need to rename. Please do not ask why these files are not backed-up somewhere else - they just aren't okay!!

So, seriously...

This week we reviewed the rules for turning a singular noun into a plural noun. Here are my posters:

We of course did a fun little scavenger hunt sort - I placed the singular nouns around the room and they had to record the plural version under the correct heading.

And lastly they made an interactive note for their writing notebooks. I used the envelopes from Krista Wallden's pack, added a tab and some text. Students recorded nouns under each envelope - the singular and plural version.

If you want to check out the posters, noun cards, interactive note and activity sheets head over to my TPT store - they would be great for next week!

  1. I lost an external hard drive and a memory stick in the same weekend...I seriously think they were in cahoots with one another! And I had all the files on my computer, but I love to bring my school files home on the hard drive so if I am in the mood, everything is handy!

Good luck with the renaming...at least you recovered everything!

  2. Oh man! That is rough about the memory stick, but at least you recovered the files. Definitely could have been worse. Enjoy the Olympics!

  3. I love the scavenger hunt idea. I need to integrate more activities like that.

I lost a ton of my files when my computer crashed a couple of months ago. My brother helped me recover some, and the most important ones were backed up. However, so much was gone. I only had the computer a couple of months. It turned out to be a lemon. At least it motivated me to go out and but one I absolutely love! I'm glad you were able to recover your files. Whew!

  4. I'm so glad you recovered those files! I know you were stressed about it. It reminded me to plug in my external drive to the computer this morning. Enjoy your weekend!

  6. I have been hunting for my thumb drive most of the day. I was a little too lazy to drive up to school and look to see if it was still in my computer. If it's not there...I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. I haven't backed up on my external hard drive in forever...there is NO excuse for this!! I hope I'm as successful finding my stick as you were recovering your files!! XOX
