Currently it is Almost 2015

I have been waking up each day thinking this is the day I will blog and going to bed thinking maybe tomorrow. But the day is finally here. I am linking up with Farley at Oh Boy 4th Grade to participate in her Currently linky. This was the very first linky I ever joined up with exactly two years ago. So here we go....

I am a sucker for all countdowns - seriously, I think I would watch a countdown of the top 10 countdown shows. Movie and music countdowns are my absolute favourites. 100 videos is a serious time commitment though : )

I absolutely need to write a to-do list so that I accomplish a few things before heading back to school.

This is my first year teaching Grade 1 and I have a few sweeties still struggling with sounding out words and letter sounds. I am not really expecting that they learned to read over the holidays but I am hoping we make big gains in the new year.

I am needing to focus on the positive every day - it is easy to fall into a negative cycle.

I am not 100% committed to eating healthier (yet - I am getting there) but I am committed to starting with moving more this year.

I may give up coffee again - this is the 1 year anniversary of being cola/soda/Pepsi free but I have not been so successful with the coffee - it is a social/work thing I think.

I would love this to be the year our family starts to travel a little more - even somewhere that involves a passport.

Wishing all of you the very happiest and healthiest of New Years.

  1. Oh my! I gave up soda several years ago, but giving up coffee! I don't think I could do it! I don't use anything but creamer in mine (not the sugary stuff) so I don't feel too bad! Your firsties will get there! It is amazing to see how much progress they make! Good luck and Happy New Year!

  4. First of all, I know exactly the first place your family should come. My house. You can come tomorrow if you want. It MIGHT still be clean. Second, I gave up soda (we call it all Coke down here in the south) this summer and I immediately felt so much better. However, I can not give up coffee. At least not yet. I am NOT a morning person and the coffee gets me one step closer to being polite to people. And, finally, I also need to focus on the positive. It really is a vicious cycle. Let's break it! ;O)

Happy New Year my friend!! xoxo

  5. I haven't had a soda in several years now, and my "coffee" is 80% milk so no worries there. (Can't order it at a diner because once I get it the way I like it the waitress is back to top it off and mess with my perfection!)

I love your idea of focusing on the positive...I am the exact opposite and wish I could be a bit more carefree. Thanks for the nudge to try something different.

  6. You are a brave, brave girl to give up both coffee and Pepsi. I had to giggle when I read your "wanting." I want to go back to break and find out that my students DIDN'T forget how to read (or do math facts, or write...) :) Happy new year to you, friend!
