Currently, A Winner and a Sale!!

Happy Canada Day!!! It is July 1st and I am going to post my Currently even though it went up days ago and I am number like one bajillion. Be sure to head over to Farley's blog and check out some of the other posts, there is a lot of great advice to be had.

So my sister, her husband and 3 kids and one of our friends are here for Canada Day weekend. I quickly shoved all my teaching stuff I brought home into my room, tidied up the house and opened the door.

I am loving summer so far, I love staying up late and sleeping in (well till 8 a.m.) but not needing to rush out the door.

I've read some really good advice through this linky about blogging and TpT and I think most of centered around keeping it in balance and being real. I think that I have had a hard time keeping it in balance and remembering why I started blogging to begin with. I started because I wanted to share and make connections with other teachers. But sometimes it is hard not to get caught up with what everyone else is doing. I started a FB page probably before I was ready and knew what to do with it, but I am slowly learning. I know I am not ready for Instagram but when Instagram exploded it was really hard not to join in! So I am trying hard to stay true to what I know I can do, what I can handle and what my purpose is, but it isn't always easy.

In more exciting news I would like to announce the winner of my Bloglovin Giveaway.  Congratulations to Megan Birchfield!  Check your email soon for your Gift Certificate.

In other news, my TpT store is on sale today until July 4th.

  1. Hi there! I found you through Farley's Currently. I am with you on finding that balance between work and relaxation. I think I got a little burned out yesterday, so I'm low keying it on work today and stepping up the R&R! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Great advice! :) It is hard to find a balance - I struggle with it all the time! Thanks for sharing your Currently with us. :)

  3. I'm looking for that balance too. I think part of our problem with taking a break is that we actually do love our jobs. :) Because of that, we don't want to take time off, but that doesn't mean that we don't need time off. I guess I should take my own advice... :) I hope you find some relaxation in your day. I'm going to try to find some for myself. :)

  9. Welcome to summer break! Great advice about being true to yourself. It can be difficult not to try to be like others, but it is the best way to go!
